My name is Matt Mazur and I’m the proud creator of Lean Domain Search.

As a software and web application developer, I’ve always struggled to find domain names for my projects. My frustrations inspired me to build tools to make finding domain names easier including a command line version of Lean Domain Search for personal use, Domain Pigeon (see below) and ultimately this site.

My goal with Lean Domain Search is to eliminate the hassle and expense of finding a domain name. There are plenty of good domain names out there, but it has never been easy to find them until now.

Background

In 2008 I launched a website called Domain Pigeon, a web 2.0 domain name generator. My original vision for Domain Pigeon was what Lean Domain Search now is, but at the time I lacked the technical skills to build it (fast bulk domain search is surprisingly hard). Domain Pigeon did fairly well, but I lacked a passion for it and eventually moved on to new projects.

Over the next two and a half years I built Preceden (a web-based timeline maker), and Lean Designs (a web-based web design tool), among other things. However, I never stopped thinking about that original domain search tool. And slowly but surely, I picked up the skill-set I needed to implement it.

With that, I proudly present to you Lean Domain Search, the simplest, most powerful domain search tool ever built.
